Next Generation Offering
Investing in the future ministry of Cypress Community Church
Vision for Next Generation Offering
Letter from Pastor Ben & the Elders
Dear Friends,
God has blessed us abundantly as a church. We have a thriving, joy-filled, growing congregation. We have a beautiful, largely undeveloped, hillside campus with well-used facilities. Our elders are prayerfully seeking to make decisions that will be a blessing to you and those who will come and worship Jesus, love one another, and serve the world at Cypress for many years to come.
One of our elder’s stated goals is to “develop a congregation-approved master plan for the church campus by December 2028”. Before a master plan can be created, there’s a short-list of large-ticket, deferred-maintenance projects that need to be addressed: leaky roofs, worn out upper parking lots, dull screens in the sanctuary, out-of-date tech booth hardware, front-lawn security improvements, to name some. More specifics will be coming soon, but the total cost is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $325,000.
That’s a lot of money!
In fact, it’s an overwhelming amount. But do you remember how God worked several years ago, after the pandemic? We needed to raise $151,000 to meet our annual expenses. The elders organized “Miracle Sunday” and God, working in the hearts of our congregation,
provided twice that much! $302,000! Amazing! All praise to Him!
As regular tithes and offerings continue to grow, the elders hope to include large-ticket projects into the church’s annual budget. In fact, if you check the bulletin’s monthly financial snapshot, you’ll see $42,000 worth of smaller-ticket maintenance projects have already been checked-off the list this year! However, the large-ticket items require a larger investment.
After much prayer and seeking the Lord, the elders believe our congregation is ready to take on the challenge of addressing these large-ticket items! On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the elders are calling our congregation to participate in a special, over-and-above offering called “The Next Generation Offering.” As Psalm 78:4 states, “We will not hide the glorious deeds of the Lord, but we will tell the next generation of his might and the wonders He has done.”
100% of that offering will be dedicated to addressing the large-ticket, deferred-maintenance projects. (Again, you’ll be getting a lot more specifics on those projects soon.) For now, the elders and I wanted to get a save-the-date on your calendar and ask you to begin praying with us for the Next Generation Offering on October 18.
Let’s see how God wants to work in us, through us, and for the next generation!
Grace and peace,
Ben
