  • Chris Thomason | Last Names A - B

    Born and raised in Southern California, Chris came to Monterey in 1972. He became a Christ-follower in 1977 after meeting Christians who were truly walking their talk. He and Sandra, his wife of 37 years live in Carmel Valley with their "kids" (two German shepherds named Titus and Samara). Chris and Sandra have been attending Cypress since 2010 and have served as ushers, small group leaders, and also on the hospitality committee. As an elder, Chris shepherds those with the last names A - B, and it is his joy and privilege to know them and lift them up in prayer.

  • MATT MAZERIK | Last Names C - F

    Matt permanently transplanted from Indiana to California while attending Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA.  It's there that he met his lovely wife of 17 years, Karie. Matt and Karie have 3 daughters (Katie, Aria, and Miriam) and have been part of Cypress since 2015 since moving to the area from San Jose.  They serve together on the worship team and are also small group leaders.  Matt and his family operate several assisted living facilities for the elderly on the Monterey Peninsula.

  • Dave Fortune | Last Names G - K

    Dave and his wife Debbie became members of Cypress Church in 1973 and assisted in the construction of our current sanctuary building. He served as law enforcement in Monterey for 31 years, is a six-time cancer survivor, and has served in numerous capacities at Cypress Church. Dave and Debbie have been married for 49 years and have two grown children and two grandsons. He is blessed to serve as a shepherding Elder, which he believes is an important leadership position, and has pledged to help guide the future of Cypress prayerfully, and according to God’s direction.

  • Bill Musselman | Last Names L - M

    Bill is the elder responsible for shepherding the letters “L” and “M”. He came to faith in Christ over twenty years ago, and was given a heart to serve God. He has been serving at Cypress on the Finance Team. At his previous church he served on the board for many years as the head deacon and treasurer. Bill is an accountant by trade, works at the local university, and is married to Leslie. They have three adult children and fifteen grandchildren(to date).

  • Ken Brown | Last Names N - R

    Ken and Mary have been married 43 years and have two sons, and 8 grandchildren.  Ken has attended Cypress since 1976 and previously served on Cypress Church Board of Directors.  He and Mary co-lead a small group and he has been an usher for 30+ years.  He is a retired law enforcement officer and currently teaches part time.  Over the years, Ken has gone on mission trips to Nairobi, Kenya and Oradee, Romania and has been part of a Discipleship group for over 2 years.  On a perfect day, you'll find him out on the golf course playing his favorite hobby.

  • Bill Victorino | Last Names S - T

    Bill is a Watsonville/Salinas native who married his wife, Mary Alice, in 2007. Together, they have thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren (to date). At their previous church, Bill led a men's bible studies, served with Mary Alice as leaders in the Celebrate Recovery ministry, and were both lay counselors with the New Hope family counseling ministry at their former church. Bill and Mary Alice came to Cypress in 2014 and are currently in couples small group Bible study. Bill's passion is to be used by Christ to minimize the stresses and serenity busters in their lives. 

  • Doyle Clayton | Last Names U - z

    Doyle was born and raised in Carmel and has been married to Sue for 50 years. They are blessed with two daughters and three very active grandchildren. Doyle is a retired educator from the Monterey School District with service as a teacher, coach, counselor, Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader, and school district administrator. He also served on the Carmel School Board. Sue and Doyle enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and volunteering in the community. They both have a passion for using the skills and energy God has given them to help improve the lives of others.
